9 Arch Bridge

This was built during the British Colonial period in Sri Lanka. This massive bridge is built entirely of solid rocks, bricks and cement without using a single piece of steel. The bridge was finally commissioned in 1921.

Lipton's Seat

This was a favorite look out point of Sir Thomas Lipton, the great tea pioneer, when surveying the surrounding region for his tea plantations at Dambatenna near Haputale. 1 hour drive through Nayabedde state.

Rawana Waterfall

The stream, a tributary of kirindi Oya plunges with a foaming spray over a series of ledges into the valley close to the road. This is also associated with the romantic legend of Rama & Sitha narrated in the ancient Indian epic poem, Ramayana. According to folklore, King Rawana of Sri Lanka had hidden the beautiful princess Sitha whom he abducted after defeating her husband prince Rama if India.

Adisham Monastry

Modeled on Leeds castle in Kent, Adisham was the country house of Sir. Thomas Villers, a distinguished British resident if the early 20th century. Now a Benedictine monastery, it is famed for its Orchards rose & market gardens that adjoin the Tangamale bird sanctuary.

Ella Gap

Ella is situated in the middle of beautiful countryside, with small vegetable plots in the valleys, tea plantations on the hill slopes and forests on the tops. The Ella Gap allows views across the Southern plains of Sri Lanka.

Horton Plains / World’ End

A high plateau, 7000 ft above sea level in the central hills, containing much endemic flora & fauna. It is the origin of many waterfalls and rivers including the Mahaweli.

Dunhinda Waterfall

The biggest fall of the Badulu Oya with a height of 58 meters( 190ft) roaring down from the Rockledge in clouds of foam into a broad pond holed in the rocks. The distance from the main road is about 1 Km.

Diyaluma Waterfall

The 170 meter (560ft) waterfall of the Poonagala Oya is 60 minutes drive from the hotel or you can trek from Poonagala in 45 minutes on paths which take you through plantations. Diyaluma is the second highest fall in Sri Lanka.

Little Adam’s Peak

Little Adam’s peak is Ella’s best known tourist attraction Resembles Adam's Peak Located five minutes away from the resort A short half hour climbs to the top of the 1141 metre peak Breathtaking views of an endless valley, tea plantations and waterfalls

When staying at our retreat in Ella, things to do for guests would include a host of pleasing and enjoyable activities. The vicinity of BBQ HUB affords ample opportunity for hiking, trekking and biking. Ella is a great location for viewing some of the best natural scenery in Sri Lanka.
